A closed mouth gathers no foot. The first step to wisdom is silence; the second is listening. A good deal of trouble has been caused in the world by too much intelligence and too little wisdom. Silence and patience are not passive, on the contrary, it’s a form of action, a concentrated strength which serves as protection against wrongs. It can not be acquired overnight. It is just like building up a muscle. Every day you need to work on it. Isn’t it surprising how many things, if not said immediately, seem not worth saying ten minutes from now? Keep your words soft and tender because tomorrow you may have to eat them. If you wouldn’t write it and sign it, don’t say it. Just SMILE ~ A pint of example is worth a gallon of advice 🙂
